ABOUT US
OUR STORY
Our church has been around for a long time. We were established as a German Reformed congregation sometime between 1720-1727. William Penn's sons, Thomas and Richard, granted our church some land. We've had multiple buildings through the years, and our current building was dedicated on November 10, 1974.
Though we have been around a long time, we are a vibrant church where the Holy Spirit is at work through the Word and the sacraments. Exciting things are happening and our church is growing.
Jerusalem Church is an independent Reformed church.
OUR VISION
(What are we ultimately aiming to achieve?)
Our highest aim is: To rightly know, confess, and commune with our triune God; to earnestly submit to Jesus Christ our Prophet, Priest, and King in our thoughts, words, and actions; to daily die to sin and put on Christ; to selflessly love, encourage, and serve one another with our gifts and lives; to faithfully point others to Christ by our godly walk of life; and to prayerfully strive to do this together to God’s glory and praise and our deepest comfort and joy.
OUR MISSION
(How do we plan to achieve our vision?)
Our plan to achieve our highest aim is: To receive our triune God’s grace, strength, and comfort through gospel-centered and Spirit-empowered Word, sacraments, and shepherding ministry.
OUR CORE VALUES
(What is our identity that shapes our decisions and behaviors?)
-
The Bible is paramount; being confessional and Reformed is most Biblical and therefore most comforting.
-
God-centered dialogical corporate worship is vital and therefore paramount.
-
Giving and receiving gentle shepherding care is essential and beneficial.
-
Being an intergenerational covenant family greatly promotes the flourishing of body and soul.
-
Guilt-grace-gratitude is a way of life.

In the past, Tim Nicholls was ordained and called by Jerusalem Church to shepherd and teach the saints. As an ordained pastor, Tim exercises his ordination and call primarily through full-time teaching at Lancaster Bible College. Pastor Tim also serves a unique pastoral role at Jerusalem Church, though not formally as a salaried pastor. Under the direction of the Leading Elders, Pastor Tim serves the saints in various roles: teaching, shepherding, discipleship, leadership development, and adviser to the Leading Elders. We as Jerusalem Church give Pastor Tim the honor and respect due his calling.
